Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT) for Teenagers

Sometimes when children and young people are above a healthy weight, they can feel anxious, embarrassed or stressed. Our project will test whether using Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT) can help young people who are referred to the W28GO Child and Adolescent Weight Management Service in Children’s Health Ireland at Temple Street Hospital. We will use CFT in an online group programme to encourage families and children to be kind to themselves by fostering self-compassion and to reduce stress. The online group will run weekly for six weeks, each session lasting 1.5 hours. To get more information or answers to your questions about the study, your participation in the study, and your rights, please contact the W82GO clinic on 01 8921838.
